It took me a while, but I did find this video that provides a thorough and interesting introduction to To Kill a Mockingbird, which my eighth grade students are in the middle of reading. I created my own Power Point introduction to the novel, which includes a lot of the information that this video shows. But students may respond better to the video, and I could use it to supplement the presentation, not instead of. The images in this video will probably have an impact on students, which I would hope would generate discussion about the way people lived in the 1930's. It is especially important for students these days to realize how much culture and society has changed. I think this video would help.
P.S. I also found a video on YouTube that told me how to post this video in my blog. :)
